President Lynette's Message

Hi everyone,

It was nice to have a night out at The Little Theatre on Tuesday.  We had a good turnout to watch "Glorious".  Thank you for your organisation Tony.

Good luck and travel safe to the cyclists heading down to Dunedin this weekend.

A reminder about upcoming events:

“Toot for Tucker” – 20th November - Greg has circulated info for this to all members, please let him know if you can help as numbers will be needed by the organizers.

The Hot Dog Van will be in action at the CAMS Classic Motorcycle event at Levels Raceway, 24, 25 & 26th November.  If you can assist for a couple of hours, please let Jess Hewitson know, there are still a few gaps on the roster.

The Santa Parade coincides with the Rose Festival on Sunday, December 3rd again this year, which means another busy day.  The Hot Dog van will be operating at the bay, and we will also be asking for volunteers to act as Road Marshalls during the Parade which starts at 2pm.  If neither Hot Dog Van assistance or Road Marshalling sounds like you, then Lionel will also need a team to check the floats for Health and Safety prior to the start of the parade.   Please consider if and where you can help and let Lionel know.
The Santa Parade is a combined Community Voluntary event organized by the two Lions clubs and the two Rotary clubs in Timaru.

To date we have not had anyone volunteer to convene “Santa Paws”, if anyone is interested, please let Cheryl Rose know.

Our next scheduled meeting will be 14th November.

Wow!!! So much happening with such an amazing team, and not everything has been listed.  Thank you to those who are willing to be involved and put their hands up to help make a difference and provide assistance to our community.

Catch up again soon,

Lynette Wilson

The wood cutting crew was presented with a 'Certificate of Appreciation' and shouted a lovely morning tea by the staff at Presbyterian Support Service and Family Works. Thanks Ladies!
A huge thank you to everyone who helps with the project on a weekly or an 'as-required' basis.  It's a great project that helps so many people in our community!
