President Cheryl's Message

Hi everyone

Great to have our DG Jan drop in for dinner. Also great to hear from our Tony who attended the Rotary International conference in Melbourne. Sounded like a great experience.

Next week is our AGM. Reading through the reports we have certainly achieved a lot this year. Would love some of you hiding in the shadows to step up into some of the vscant roles on offer.

I’m away the next two weeks, see you at Changeover on 4th July.

Signing out as your President. It’s been an honour and privilege to be at the helm.

Yours aye
Cheryl

Past member Michael Parker (former CEO of Presbyterian Support SC) died on Thursday 15th June after a long battle with Leukaemia.
His funeral is to be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel 160 Mountainview Road on Wednesday 21st June at 2:00 pm.

Bruce Borrell Reporting From Guernsey Island

Bruce Borrell reporting:-
Last week we were on  Guernsey Island & got caught up in the Guernsey Island Rotary “Around the Island Walk”.
A very impressive project involving the organisation of the two island clubs - basically people pay or are sponsored to walk around the Island, a distance of 39k taking up to 10 hours for a complete walk!
The walk is however divided into sections & it is possible to walk just one or two sections if preferred - it was good to see large numbers of walkers including families, sporting clubs, work groups etc.
It’s held annually, last year raising 80,000 euros for community projects.
This was the Club’s 100th year and to mark the occasion the twelve previous presidents each walked one section.

Upcoming HDV Event

Save the date!
We have an upcoming HDV event with a slight difference! We will be operating the HDV along with a BBQ for the Aspect Trust Fundraising Tug of War event.

The event will be held at the Morgans Road Indoor Stadium, Saturday 26th August (during the evening) and we will be the food vendor where ticket holders can redeem their tickets for some snacks from us, as well as selling food if they are still hungry!

Details and times etc will be finalised closer to the time but I will be looking for both BBQ people and HDV workers for the event.  The roster has been updated on the website so you can add your name if you are free on the evening (by clicking here...).
Let me know if you have any issues getting into the roster.

Many Thanks
Jess
