President Cheryl's Message
Hi everyone
Those who didn’t join us at the Drama League production of Captain Cain missed a great performance. I was as amazed by the cast's skill as I was by the research that had gone into it and the playwright's skill.
Great summary of early Timaru and those who settled in it. Shame about the family resentments and poisonings!
As I write this next week’s speaker is still to be confirmed. I’m sure it will be a great night anyway. See you Tuesday
Yours aye

Missing Engine??
Tony explaining at wood collection last Wednesday morning "the engine was there when I left home!".

Thank You Humphris Engineering
This year we have had a couple of repairs on our food caravan.  We had the stabilizing legs replaced and the braking system upgraded.  Humphris Engineering has carried out these works with no labour charges on our invoices, only charging us for the materials used.  This incredibly kind gesture has saved our Trust $850! – which is basically the equivalent cost of sending a student up to Auckland for the STEM Rotary Science Forum.
Such a wonderful gesture to make from a local business.
HDV Committee Chair

Hato Hone St John Collection
We have been asked to provide volunteers for their Annual Appeal on Friday 16 June between 9 am and 6 pm. Please click here to email me and let me know if you can put in some time, and which part of the day you would be available.

Upcoming HDV Event
Save the date!
We have an upcoming HDV event with a slight difference! We will be operating the HDV along with a BBQ for the Aspect Trust Fundraising Tug of War event.
The event will be held at the Morgans Road Indoor Stadium, Saturday 26th August (during the evening) and we will be the food vendor where ticket holders can redeem their tickets for some snacks from us, as well as selling food if they are still hungry!
Details and times etc will be finalised closer to the time but I will be looking for both BBQ people and HDV workers for the event.  The roster has been updated on the website so you can add your name if you are free on the evening (by clicking here...).
Let me know if you have any issues getting into the roster.
Many Thanks

Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.

Editors Humour
Did you hear about the shepherd who drove his sheep through town? He was given a ticket for making a ewe turn.
What happens to an illegally parked frog? It gets toad away.
How does the man in the moon get his hair cut? Eclipse it.
Why are so many blonde jokes one-liners? So brunettes can remember them.
