Staying positive doesn’t mean you have to be happy all the time. It means that even on the hard days you know better ones are coming. - Unknown.
THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS
Thanks to King Street Motors for carrying out a Warrant of Fitness inspection of the Hot Dog Caravan at no cost to the Club, and then carrying out some maintenance work, again at no cost to the Club. What great support of our efforts for the community.

President Cheryl's Message.
Hi everyone
A nice relaxed evening was had by all last Tuesday. Our club members Jess and Tony presented us with their job talks from different angles. Always great to hear from our members. We’re getting a few requests to assist people in our community. Keep an eye out for details in our newsletter. While we have no money coming in from the hot dog van this is a great way to provide low to no cost service if you can.
Make sure next week to invite your daughters/granddaughters, neighbours or other young ladies you know thinking of a career in the Police Force. They will be very interested to hear our guest speaker.
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our members who are unwell or isolating.
Yours aye
Cheryl

Kia Ora. My name is David Jack the Manager of Te Aitarakihi Marae-a-iwi at Smithfield.
We are currently supporting those families that are having to isolate due to Covid through our community connector program that is funded by MSD.
The caseloads are soring and we are looking to organisations such as Rotary to see if we can find some volunteers to assist us with delivering food packages to these families on a day to day basis until we can get over this peak.
Is Rotary able to assist at all?
Many thanks.
If anyone is able to help, can you please email Jess (hewitson_jessica@hotmail.com or 021 886 812) by Friday midday and she will provide Dave with a list of names and numbers
Charitable Trust Donation To CPlay Correction.
A correction to the article in last week's bulletin when the Charitable Trust donated $30,000 to CPlay - the new playground being created on the bay (the money actually was $10,000 from the Charitable Trust & $20,000 from the Bill Mackay Bequest).

RGECAF March Newsletter
Dear All,
It is my pleasure to attach the latest Rotary Give Every Child A Future newsletter and the first for 2022. Thank you for your ongoing support for this important Rotary Centenary project. We have continued to make good progress. The program is somewhat delayed because of the pandemic but it is on budget and over 80% of the funds have been raised. So, we are aiming to get it fully funded in 2022.
It’s a while since we reviewed our bulletin content. Stephen does a great job pulling it together each week. I know it’s sometimes a struggle for him to get items from us. I think we need to pick up our game in that regard. So - I’m looking for feedback since it is your bulletin. What do you like about it, what would you like to see that isn’t there, and what can be improved. Email me your responses (cheryl-is@hotmail.com) then Stephen and I can work on your suggestions.
Thanks much
Cheryl

Editors Humour.
The CEO of a large corporation was giving advice to a junior executive. “I was young, married, and out of work,” he lectured. “I took the last nickel I had and bought an apple. I polished it and sold it for a dime. The next day I bought two apples, polished them, and sold them for ten cents each.”
“I see,” said the junior executive. “You kept reinvesting your money and grew a big business.” “No,” said the CEO. “Then my wife’s father died and left me a fortune.”

Two regulars are sitting at a bar when one of them casually points to a couple of drunks across from them. “That’s us in ten years,” he says. His friend takes a sip from his beer, sets it down on the bar, turns to his friend, and slurs, “That’s a mirror.”

During a high school visit to France, Jess stayed with a French family. One night, she was unsure what the meat on my dinner plate was, so she pointed to it and asked in her best 11th-grade French: “Qui est-ce?” The family’s expressions told me I needed some tutoring. Instead of asking “What is it?” as she had intended, she had asked, “Who is it?”
