President Cheryl's Message

Hi everyone

Thank you Cheryl for introducing us to an event most of us will never get the opportunity to participate in, a marathon. Well done doing it yourself.

Next week our Emma is updating us on all things legal that we need to know as a Club, both at Board level and as individual members.

Great to get feedback on the project in Kenya that we helped fund. It’s also exciting seeing a number of activities around town that we’ve helped fund, now make a start, in particular CPlay and the resurfacing of the Athletics Track.

See you Tuesday

Yours aye
Cheryl

Upcoming Dates To Keep

Fundraising Car Wash
On Sunday 12 March (this weekend) a fundraising car wash is happening at the Timaru Library Carpark.   It's part of Seaweek, but the funds raised are going to CPlay.
We are looking for volunteer car washers on the day -  if you are free or have family members who might be keen, please get in touch with me or Lynette.
The car wash is running time 10 am to 12 pm, but volunteers are to be there for 9 am safety briefing and set up etc.   I will be down there organising everyone, so just come and find me.
If you are unable to help with the washing, perhaps you could bring along your car to be washed!? Entry from Sophia Street end of Bank Street.
HDV
We are still looking for a couple of van assistants in the HDV for the Rock n Hop event on Sat 18th March.  If you are about, please put your name on the roster.
'Save the date' for Saturday 1st of April - for the Winchester Swap Meet - now being held at Levels Motor Raceway.  I haven't added it to the roster yet as we are still waiting to hear if we have a powered site, hopefully early next week we will have an answer.
Cheers
Jess

Margaret Perry

President Cheryl sent a note to Margaret from the Board & members on hearing of her terminal illness diagnosis.
The following is Margaret's reply:-

The President
Timaru Rotary Club of Timaru

Good Morning Cheryl and Members

Your note of 1 March 2023 was very much appreciated. Yes, my health concerns are serious. I have a consultation with Christchurch Hospital this week followed by a biopsy this Friday at Timaru Hospital.

It seems my life expectancy is far less than I thought. It is very difficult to cope.

However, your note to me was appreciated. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Kind regards
Margaret Perry

Anzac Day Tuesday 25th April

Just in case you wish to plan ahead.  ANZAC day this year is on 25th April (one of our Tuesdays).  So you can take an extra long weekend and not worry about Rotary - we won’t meet that Tuesday. We will remind you closer to the time. Regards Cheryl

Information Required

Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.
Stephen
