Peter's Queen Mary 2 Rotary Attendance Certificate.
On our recent transatlantic crossing from Southampton to New York, I noticed in the daily program an invitation for Rotarians aboard to meet up.
There were eleven of us from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and myself. We all talked about our respective clubs and our fundraising activities. One of which was from the Canadian from a similar sized town as ours who years ago had opened their own Rotary shop which now raised about $30,000.a year for their club. A wonderful idea which impressed everyone but with the number of similar shops already in Timaru probably wouldn't work?
'Thank You' Letters For Our Firewood.
We have received the following letters in appreciation of supplying our firewood:-
Thank you for your very generous donation of kindling.
I hope you realize how much this is appreciated.
Thanks
Margaret Younger.
Dear Rotary Club members,
Winter is upon us and we welcome the call from Tony "the wizard of kindling wood" who with his band of wood chopping brothers, brighten our chilly nights.
Thank you again for the kind gesture which is so appreciated.
Reg. is slowly recovering from a very big attack of gout, caused by shellfish (not alcohol!).
You can imagine the comfort brought by his beloved fire.
Thank you
Jean Haslam.
