Stuart Batty Q.S.M J.P.
Stuart joined Rotary in 1978 and has held most positions at club and district level, and was District Governor (9910) 1n 1991/2.
He has spent the past 40 years volunteering in the N.G.O. sector of New Zealand, South Pacific, India, Kenya, Tanzania, Swaziland and South Africa.
Stuart is an Hon.Consul for Tanzania. For the past 27 years he has focussed on Rotary's World Community Service. He is Executive Director of RNZWCS Ltd, a national body of Rotary NZ.
He spent six years as a director of the NZ Council for International development whose mandate is to achieve effective high quality programs that focus on the alleviation and eradication of poverty.
Stuart is Rotary's International's PolioPlus National Advocacy Advisor for New Zealand lobbying successive governments to financially support Global Polio eradication.
We look forward to welcoming him and his wife Lesley to our club.

On behalf of the Timaru Area Committee I wish to sincerely thank you all for assisting Timaru St John with the recent New World Supermarket collection.
The willingness of your club to assist the committee was greatly appreciated and the commitment shown by your club to provide collectors was commendable.

Time to clean out your wardrobe?
The Cancer Society are collecting unwanted clothing to go on sale and all the proceeds raised will be used to support those living with cancer throughout the Canterbury-West Coast region.
Lionel has stepped up first with a couple of shirts and I have found some items that have mysteriously shrunk over the last few years.
This is a good cause so items to me please to forward on.
