President Jess's Message.
Dia dhaoibh (Hello in Irish Gaelic)
It was great to have DG Dylan along this week as our guest speaker. Our AG Raewyn was also in attendance. Dylan delivered a great speech, about his time so far as DG, the ways Rotarians have had to adapt over the last year due to COVID, the importance of change and embracing new ideas and ways of doing things, utilising the technology available to us to maintain good connections. I think that we are certainly on the right track in our club and I was secretly a bit proud that we could say ‘yes we are doing that’ to many of the points Dylan spoke about, still some areas we need to work on but definitely pointing in the right direction 😊 Dylan spoke of the upcoming 'EClub of WASH' trivia night and the lunchtime meeting they hold each week – perhaps those of you who don’t work on a Friday could join a meeting one day?
Nice to hear the Rotary Oceania Centenary project will begin on the ground in the Pacific in January next year. “Give Every Child a Future” project is a Rotary Oceanian and UNICEF initiative and the goal is to vaccinate 100,000 kids with 3 vaccines – Rotavirus, Pneumococcal and HPV. Our club will also be donating to this project this year. More info click here...
Michael Boorer and Gordon Ireland from the Athletics SC All-Weather Track Trust will make a presentation on the resurfacing project that is being planned for January 2022.
They will allow for any questions you may have.
The Charitable Trust has been asked to assist with the funding of this project.
Members are reminded to put in an apology for the meeting by noon on Monday (otherwise they are liable to be charged) - click on the following link to apologise:-

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.
RAFFLE PRIZES
For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.
To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.
When it's your turn to provide the prize:
Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.
Information Required.
Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.

This year’s movie is I Am Woman. It’s the story of Australian singer/songwriter, Helen Reddy, who shot to global stardom in the seventies. While set in the US, the movie is a local production. Tilda Cobham-Hervey is sensational in the lead role.
Helen Reddy passed away on Tuesday, 29th September in Los Angeles from Dementia.

Who Does What
A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew their coffee each morning. The wife said, “You should do it because you get up first and then we don’t have to wait so long to get our coffee.”
The husband said, “You are in charge of cooking around here and it is your job because that is your job and I can just wait for my coffee.”
Wife replies, “No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.”
Husband replies, "I don’t believe that. Show me.”
So she fetched the Bible, opened the New Testament and pointed to the top of several pages, that indeed say “HEBREWS” !!
