President Andrea's Message
Keith Shaw from YMCA was a great speaker. His passion for education of our youth was very evident. The way he has looked at the needs in our community and developed courses to help as many as his team can is inspirational.
I'm in Auckland this weekend and am staying with a young family who although work very hard, will struggle to own their own home in the distant future. They are hoping to save for a retirement home. This makes me realize just how lucky we are in Timaru.
I'm always amazed in how many great motivated people work and live in our area.
Go Timaru.

Rotary Professional Development Exchange.
At the the South Pacific President Elect Training Seminar and Rotary Know How, there was mention that the District is planning a Professional Development Exchange, (PDE), with Tasmania.
The focus of the PDE will be tourism, agriculture and engineering.
The exchange is likely to happen in April 2019.
The PDE Committee will be looking for nominations for a Team Leader and outstanding young people between the ages of 18 and 40 to join the group. Unlike the old Group Study Exchanges, nominations will be open to people who are also Rotarians.
Further information will be following shortly.
If you have any queries please just let me know.
Kind Regards
