A record $2687 beating last years takings by $157.Thanks to all concerned.
The Amorous Ambassador
A very funny farce by this American author. The cast were superb and showed great comic timing. Everyone there loved it. Huge applause at the end. Other plays by this author are The Sensuous Senator, Sex please we're 60 and Whose wives are they anyway?
Ashburton Rotary Club Visit
Surrounded by airplanes this was a very impressive venue.
Scott Brown, the American Ambassador came and introduced himself to us and seemed very happy to listen and have a chat. I mentioned that some of our Rotary club had been to see the "Amorous Ambassador" farce the previous evening and he jokingly said 'That sounds like me" and said that he had indeed read the book.
He spoke well and encouraged questions from the audience and answered as well as he could and when he couldn't for diplomatic reasons he admitted it. A very enjoyable evening.
URGENT. St John National Appeal Day - Timaru New World Supermarket Thursday 5th April.We have had a couple of cancellations for the 2.00pm to 4.30 pm shift. Can anyone help please. Duties are to sit inside at a table by the entrance and encourage shoppers to donate to a very worthy cause.

Centennial Fund Proposal
Object:
Set aside funds over the next ten years to mark the 100th Centennial Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Timaru and make a lasting gift to the people of this community who we have supported and who have supported this club.
Fund target amount:
$100,000 would be a meaningful figure equating to $1,000 for every year the club has been in existence.
Where will the funds come from:
If the gift is of a charitable nature, $5,000 per annum from the Charitable Trust matched by a special fundraising activity each year for the remaining $5,000.
Type of gift:
That can be decided upon during the last 5 year period.
The above will be discussed at the 3rd April tea meeting & a motion moved to allow (if passed) planning to be started.

Westmount school

This is a day visit to Dunedin to learn more about Rotary and where it is headed.
This day is open to all member's and will be a well worthwhile day.
Let's get as many people there as we can.

CONFERENCE in Dunedin
May 5th 6th and 7th.
This will be a great conference to attend lots of great inspirational speakers.
A fun way to get the fellowship with other rotarians from around our District.
We NEED to book accommodation now as it's a big weekend in Dunedin.
The theme of the Saturday Night Function is "B".
Again lets gets many people there and show our District how well Timaru can have Fun.
