Thought for the week
It is better to ask & risk a no, than to live in fear of rejection.
THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS
Thanks to King Street Motors for carrying out a Warrant of Fitness inspection of the Hot Dog Caravan at no cost to the Club, and then carrying out some maintenance work, again at no cost to the Club. What great support of our efforts for the community.
Members might like to return the favour by supporting King Street Motors; you'll find them at 143 King Street.

President Andrea's Message.
The Salvation Army is one of those organizations that do so much for so many, all without judgements or need to qualify for certain funding buckets.
I really enjoyed listening to Andrew and his journey with the Army.
It's also an opportunity to see where in the community we can offer help to others.
The Hotdog caravan is going really well. Looks as if it will be a great year for the profits.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Special Guest Speaker 4th June.
We have arranged a guest speaker for the evening from Dunedin - fellow Rotarian, David Black. David will talk about his involvement with Rotary Action Group Against Slavery and origins of Project Starfish, a project he founded to support the Rescue Mission for Children in Northern Thailand.
David’s recent presentation at our District 9980 Conference has inspired one of our Club/NRG members, Jess Hewitson to take up his offer of joining the Project Starfish Team which will head over to Thailand and Cambodia in December this year.

Claire Freeman on 'Sunday'.
Claire Freeman who participated in the recent Timaru RYDA Day (as our Crash Survivor) is featuring on the TV1 documentary program 'Sunday' on 26th May @ 7.30pm. I have spoken with her and she advised the programme will also focus heavily on her crash and how it has impacted her life and in particular the relationship with her Mum and the guilt that they have both been carrying. She also touches on the importance of Road Safety. She is exhausted and drained emotionally and physically after the whole experience but she hopes that the interview will make a difference. I thought it would be of interest to you and indeed the students.
Regards
Naomh
