 President Andrea's Message .

Tuesday night saw a lot of ideas coming forward to carry us through the next 6 months of activity.
I was amazed how everyone embraced the opportunity and some groups stayed talking for at least half an hour afterwards.
I love the enthusiasm for Rotary that was evident around the room.
Remember even though each group puts forward their plans, we are all one team here to help each other succeed.

I'm looking forward to hearing the plans on Tuesday night.

Have a great weekend.

Claremont Castle Garden Party.

Our club has been approached by Ron from Claremont Castle to provide some volunteers to help with the "Claremont Garden Party" event on Saturday 9th February.

The event is being held to recreate an old tradition on the property going back decades with plenty of stalls, food, games for the kids, tours though the venue and musical entertainment, a great family day out!
All money raised will be going to Make A Wish, recipient being a local child/children to benefit.

We are needing a crew to help with car park ushering, gate collections, ensuring there are no stiletto heals in the upstairs rooms during the house tours, helping with activities etc. Rob is also encouraging us to have a 'Rotary Stall' to promote our Club (we do have the District pop up tent which could be set up with information flyers etc).

The event has a Facebook page " Claremont Garden Party" if you wanted to have a look.
Open to the public 11am-6pm.  We would need our volunteers from 10.15am - 5.30pm/6pm

Could you please get in touch with Jess if you or your partners would be available on the day, Saturday 9th February. If it's not the full day, any part of the day would be a huge help.

Thanks
Jess

Science & Technology Forum 2019.

Robin Peterson received the following email from Bailey who we sent to the Science & Technology Forum in January:-

Dear Robin,
I have recently arrived back home from the 2019 Rotary Science and Technology Forum. It was one of the most amazing, eye-opening experiences. I am so appreciative of the hard work of all Rotarians who enabled me to attend this event. To illustrate my gratitude, I would love to talk at an upcoming meeting to share my experiences with the Rotarians, to show how their hard work paid off. I thank you and Bev greatly for all the effort you put into allowing me to attend the Forum, It was a life changing experience which I am very eager to share to the others who allowed me to attend.

Yours sincerely,
(A very grateful) Bailey Lissington
