President Andrea's Message
Saturday once again and what to do with my day.
No hotdog caravan to be in today. After last Saturdays effort I'm sure we are all enjoying a well earned rest. A big thank you to all those involved last weekend. Two very big events over a long day. Some started at 8 and were still going very late at night. Starting up again the next morning to shift the van.
I am looking forward to working in the van with new vats. Will only make our job easier and quicker.
It always amazes me how much volunteer time Rotarian's give.
Tuesday nights meeting with Craig speaking about fire safety was a reminder for me to check out my home.
And yes those multi plug boxes got sorted, the smoke detectors also.

Sarah Davis will be speaking to the club about the 'Classroom in the Clouds' project in Nepal the club supports.
In attendance will be Dafutee Sherpa (daughter of CiTCs CEO Dawa Sherpa)

Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.

Georgia Dobbs - On Outward Bound Course She Attended.
The club has received the following email from Georgia Dobbs on the Outward Bound course to which we gave her a grant to assist her to attend:-
Ki Ora,
I would like to thank you very much for the funding I received towards my Outward Bound course that I attended in July. It was very helpful to have some financial support, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I have attached a summary of what my course entailed, as I thought you may be interested to hear back.
The following letter was received after Tony delivered some kindling:-

We want to thank Tony & his team of kindling wood choppers.
We really want to convey how grateful we are as Reg has become more frail.
Thanks to Tony's team Reg can continue to enjoy his log fire & warm comfort.

Guest Speakers Question Time.
At the last Directors meeting the amount of time spent after a guest speaker has spoken with question time was discussed and was it decided that about 5 questions only be allowed (members can of course talk to the speaker after the meeting with any extra questions).
District 9980 Upcoming Projects.

Altrusa Roaring Twenties Dinner 13th September.
Gilly has been contacted by Altrusa and asked to publicise their upcoming ‘Roaring Twenties Dinner’ it is on again on 13 September.
Once again tickets will be limited in number and cost per person is $25.

Rotary Professional Development Exchange.
At the the South Pacific President Elect Training Seminar and Rotary Know How, there was mention that the District is planning a Professional Development Exchange, (PDE), with Tasmania.
The focus of the PDE will be tourism, agriculture and engineering.
The exchange is likely to happen in April 2019.
The PDE Committee will be looking for nominations for a Team Leader and outstanding young people between the ages of 18 and 40 to join the group. Unlike the old Group Study Exchanges, nominations will be open to people who are also Rotarians.
