President Andrea's Message.

As I sit here working out what I'm going to say today, I'm sitting in a cafe enjoying my latte and my coffee. The Sun is streaming in and it's cosy and warm. Both my children have grown thinking the only scary thing in life is a grumpy Mum and being starved because tea is one hour late.
Tuesday's meeting has set me on a path of recognition of how wonderful my life has been. Yes I've had horrible moments, haven't we all. However, that's all they were 'Moments'. We are surrounded by wonderful, caring family and friends who support and love us.

Dave Black has had a life filled with helping those who live in fear,  in horrible years filled with pain and atrocities that we cannot imagine. He is one of those people that we can be really proud of. He has stepped out of his comfort zone to help others some of which he may never meet again or even know what became of them. He will however always have the joy of knowing he played a huge part in helping them to live a safe and happy life.

Project Starfish helping one more child (at a time) to be what they can be, will put the ripples in the pond. They will grow with skills and strength to take back to their homes and help others to live a better life.
Jess your amazing, I'm not sure I could do what your about to do. I worry I  would fall into the trap of wanting to bring them all home. I would be emotionally involved. Well done you for putting your hand up to help. It will be an amazing adventure that will be a life-changing time for you. Just let us know if we can help in any way.

Have a wonderful weekend

I will talk about it at Rotary next week anyway.
