Host Duties.

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.

RAFFLE PRIZES

For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.

To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.

When it's your turn to provide the prize:
  • Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
  • Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
  • If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.

District Know How Programme 2021.

Just a reminder about the 8th April email Tania Lowery sent out to everyone about the upcoming Zoom 'District Know How Programme' being held on Saturday mornings the 8th & 15th May between 9 am & 1.45 pm.

These sessions are open to all Rotarians, so feel free to come along to as many as you like.  Come prepared with all those questions you have been wanting to ask, but just never got around to.  Our trainers are here to help you, and all sessions will be interactive with plenty of opportunities for discussion and question/answer time.

Get a group of fellow members together and come along to all, or some, of the following sessions:
  • Club Treasurer
  • Club Secretary
  • Club Foundation Chair
  • Club Development & Membership
  • Club Projects
  • Club Public Image
  • Club IT

Shelter Box Quiz Night 6th May.

Get out your diaries and block off the evening of the 6th of May (Thursday) starting at 7:00 pm, I will be organising a quiz night at Bay Hill Brewery Bar (Monteith’s) to raise money for Shelter Box.
If you had any contacts who I might be able to convince into donating some prizes or if there is a business that would be in a position to sponsor some vouchers or gifts etc, please let me know 😊 and of course start thinking of who you want on your team 😉.
Jess

Editors Humour.

Could a ... ... librarian be called a bookkeeper? ... referee be a game warden? ... dairyman be a cowboy? ... cabinetmaker be the president?
____________

Two men are hiking through the woods when one of them cries out, “Snake! Run!” His companion laughs at him. “Oh, relax. It’s only a baby,” he says. “Don’t you hear the rattle?

It’s a good thing snakes and dogs don’t interbreed. Nobody wants a loyal snake.

An elephant drinking from a stream spots a tortoise lounging on the shore. He grabs it with his trunk and flings it into the jungle. A passing zebra asks, "Why did you do that?" ...... "Forty years ago that very tortoise nipped my tail just for fun," the elephant said. "Wow, forty years ago! How did you remember that?" "Well I have turtle recall," replied the elephant.
