My last “Blurb” for the Bulletin, I wish to thank Peter Jordan for doing the hard yards for us in the club, by compiling and circulating the Bulletin each two weeks over the last year, a job he has done with style. I love his Jokes, some Subtle, some not as much, all power to you Peter!!
Our last meeting:
Our AGM went off well, a big thank you to all who attended, it was great to have 15 of our 20 members in attendance.
On Wednesday last, we had our tour with other Rotarians from Temuka-Geraldine and Timaru North of the Heartland Chips factory with Raymond and Charlotte Bowan.
For me, it was interesting that the actual factory has not increased in size, however the storage of stocks of finished product in cartons, was an issue. It was interesting that the “best before” life of a packet of crisps is 10 months! (Not in our pantry!!)
We ventured down Meadows Road after visiting the Heartland Factory to Alpine Building, where we shared an enjoyable meal together, of pulled Beef Wraps, Wedges and Coleslaw, and a drink. A huge thank you to Scott Ackroyd for putting this on for us, as well as a tour of their flash new Building. Scott has worked for Alpine Building for 7.5 years.
Changeover on Tuesday will be special, so we will see you all there?
I’m not sure what I have that has “Pink” on it, but I will find something, even if it’s a pink Stabilo highlighter pen from my top pocket of my jacket!!
I have asked Peter to show us some photos of the last 12 months in this Bulletin, I’m not sure what he will use, hopefully not the Sydney JCI Convention photos of Treasurer Mike and I with 1980’s Short Shorts!!
In conclusion, to those who read this, and to every member of our Mighty little Club, I wish to extend a sincere thank you, for making the last 12 months both rewarding and enjoyable. We achieved “Action” that will assist many people, not only in Timaru, but many, across the globe, who benefitted from our actions.
