Thought for the week

Strength doesn't come from what you can do, it comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.

THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS

Thanks to King Street Motors for carrying out a Warrant of Fitness inspection of the Hot Dog Caravan at no cost to the Club, and then carrying out some maintenance work, again at no cost to the Club.  What great support of our efforts for the community.

Members might like to return the favour by supporting King Street Motors; you'll find them at 143 King Street.

Thank You
Major sponsor of the
Rotary Club of Timaru

President Andrea's Message.

Dr John Milligan of The City Harvest Food Rescue showed us what true passion for a cause could achieve. To be able to feed so many people in a year from food that would just go into the landfill is truly amazing. To gather the backing of the big corporations and the small businesses in one year tells me his cause is going to be very successful. It's great to see them venture into Timaru. I for one have looked at my food wastage and have changed my meal planning. In doing so I have not been to the supermarket this week. That's a $$$$ saving for me so another bonus.

The Tasmanian Exchange Team are having a great time been shown around South Canterbury. Many thanks to Bev for all her hard work both with the organisation and also hosting two of the team.

To our wonderful Web Masters Lance and John
What an amazing achievement once again received the award for the Website from this year's conference. This shows us that we have great people working for us to help spread the word of Rotary.

Have a wonderful week

GUEST AND VISITOR MEALS

The Board recently agreed on the following policy regarding payment for guest and visitor meals and drinks.

Prospective Club Members:
The Club will pay the cost of a meal and a drink for a prospective member on 2 occasions. The person hosting the prospective member should arrange purchase of the meal and drink - see the note regarding payment below.
Guest Speaker:
The Town and Country Club meets the meal cost for one guest speaker each week.  The Chairperson should ask the bar staff to issue the meal voucher to the guest and charge the cost to the TTCC Manager’s account.
The chairperson may also buy the guest a drink and either claim reimbursement from the treasurer or charge it to our Club’s account – see below
If there's more than one Guest Speaker
If there is more than one guest speaker the club will meet the cost of the additional speaker meal(s) and drink(s). The chairperson should arrange purchase of the meal and drink - see the note regarding payment below.
Guest Speaker’s family or other accompanying persons
If the guest speaker plans to bring a support person or family member(s) the arrangements regarding meal and drink costs should be discussed with the President before a commitment to pay the additional meal and drink costs is made.  If the President agrees the meal and drink costs will be paid for by the club.
Paying for guest meals
When the meals are to be paid for by the Club there are two options available for making the payment:
Get the Club’s Membership Card from the treasurer and charge the meal(s) and drink(s) to the club. Ask the cashier to record your name and the guest name on the account.
Pay for the meal(s) and drink(s) yourself, ask the cashier for a duplicate voucher, and claim reimbursement from the treasurer.

Information Required.

Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.

The answer to the last riddle:-
