Thought for the week

One can never have enough socks. Another Christmas has come & gone & I didn't get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books. - Professor Dumbledore in "Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone".

THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS

President Jess's Message.

Halló allir
hello everyone in Icelandic

Our club had a busy day last Sunday! We had a team of workers down at the Rose Festival in the food caravan for the day. We had great sales for the day, which was nice as we were right beside another hot food van. We also had great comments from our customers about the Christmas Parade which was where another group of our club members were kept busy. We provided road marshals for the parade route and bodies to register floats and complete the float H&S checks pre-parade.

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help over the weekend and a special thank you to Lynette for being our Clubs rep on the Christmas Parade Committee this year.

Partners Night.

It will be at the Landing Services Conference Centre (Above Speights Ale House) the same place as last year.

Cost is $55.00 per person - to view menu click here...

We enter from the glass door entrance at the back of Speights Ale House, that is actually the entrance to the Landing Service Building. To be clear it’s not at Speights Ale House it's at the Landing Services building.
We will gather from 6 pm for drinks and social time, with an official start time of 6.45 pm, mains served at 7 pm (approx. meal time).

RSVP was by Sunday 6th December.

Host Duties.

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.

RAFFLE PRIZES

For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.

To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.

When it's your turn to provide the prize:
  • Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
  • Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
  • If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.

Not Received The Bulletin??

For some unexplainable reason members computers seem to decide to place the weekly bulletin in the 'Junk' ('Spam') folder of their emails from time to time - so if you do not receive the bulletin any week please check this folder (and I can almost guarantee 99% of the time you will find it there).
Each week after sending the bulletins out I check the 'Send History' in Clubrunner to verify any that get 'dropped' (not sent) and check the reason why (of the 79 odd bulletins that are sent out only between 0 & 2 are dropped).
Stephen (Editor).

Information Required.

Remember this is "your" bulletin and so please email information to me on what your committee is doing (or planning) so everyone can be aware of it.
Lack of the above will mean the bulletin is not advising the members of what is happening in the club & particapation will be down.
Stephen
