President Andrea's Message .
Tuesday nights meeting was interesting.
As so many if us have been affected with breast cancer. The figures are always a shock to see.
Let's all do what we can to insure they don't increase.
This appears to be a month of helping people in our community.
We have the Blood Pressure Campaign this weekend followed by the Breast Cancer Collection next week.
Also an opportunity to help at a trick or treat day for Plunket.
It's good to see so many of our club offering up their time to help these organizations. With the wood chopping /kindling project we are very busy people
Tuesday night will be an opportunity to hear about what's is store for our club. Will be a night of information and discussion. I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks.

This Weeks Meeting
Tuesday 18th September
Sarah Davis will be speaking to the club about the 'Classroom in the Clouds' project in Nepal the club supports.
In attendance will be Dafutee Sherpa (daughter of CiTCs CEO Dawa Sherpa)
Fancy Dress Organised By The Social Committee.
Julie (representing the Social Committee) announced at the 11th September tea meeting that 18th September meeting will have a fancy dress theme (with everyone dressing up as something/someone beginning with "S").
Shaun, Sarah & Stephen were told they would not be allowed to dress as themselves.
Door entry fee will be $5.00 (if in fancy dress) or $10.00 (if not) - Money going to the Charitable Trust.

1 What brought you into Rotary.
2 Which project has given you the best feeling of WOW that was so worthwhile?
Why I joined Rotary:
I was an RYE Student in 2002 and lived in Switzerland for a year. It was an amazing experience and I always wanted to give back to Rotary. I also wanted to get involved with RYE again.
Working next door to Lionel and with my hospitality experience, he and Lynette got me into help in the HDV a few times and then proceeded to plant the seed of the "NRG", next minute I am starting up NRG Timaru with some friends and am a member of the 9980 RYE Committee. 😊
My WOW moment:
Our 1st big project we completed with NRG - delivering 250 Hi Vis vests to Timaru South Primary School. I also really love the 'Wood Projects' we do within our Club. To know we are helping people in need keep warm in the winter is a good feeling! 😊

Pink Ribbon Appeal.
Our Club has been asked if we can again provide collectors for the Pink Ribbon Appeal at Mitre 10 Timaru on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th of October from 8am to 4pm.
Depending on how many are interested we can go:
Two four hour shifts on each day, one person on each: Four people needed.
Two four hour shifts on each day, two people on each: Eight people needed.
Four two hour shifts on each day, one person on each: Eight people needed.
Four two hour shifts on each day, two people on each: Sixteen people needed.

Shaun will also ask for names at next week's meeting.

NZ Red Cross Annual Book Sale
It is that time of year again when NZ Red Cross is asking our help to sort out and cleanup after their annual book sale on Monday 17th September at 3p.m. at the Red Cross hall in Bank St.
Anyone who can assist (or for more information) could they please contact Bruce Borrell (688 1165 or (0210) 239 9769).
Guest Speakers Question Time.
At the last Directors meeting the amount of time spent after a guest speaker has spoken with question time was discussed and was it decided that about 5 questions only be allowed (members can of course talk to the speaker after the meeting with any extra questions).
