THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS
Thanks to King Street Motors for carrying out a Warrant of Fitness inspection of the Hot Dog Caravan at no cost to the Club, and then carrying out some maintenance work, again at no cost to the Club. What great support of our efforts for the community.

President Jess's Message.
Gluten Tag zusammen (German for hello everyone)
We had a visit from our Science &Technology Forum Alumni Bailey Lissington this week. It was lovely to hear of all his achievements since we sent him on his trip to Auckland in 2019. He’s won numerous scholarships and awards over the last few years and become involved in a few environmental groups in the region. Bailey is in his 2nd year of study at Uni studying Computer Engineering and certainty has a bright future! He brought along some of the replica ships he’s created on the 3D printer at his work (PrimePort Timaru) to help with the 'Wharf Logistics' model he’s been helping to develop while doing an internship there. (refer photos below).
7 of us will be officiating at the 1st Annual South Canterbury Mini Golf champs on Monday, which is being held at the Shearers Quarters and Temuka “Muka Putt” courses. All profits are heading towards the Temuka Museum upgrade. Fingers crossed the weather holds up!
Don’t forget to register for District Conference in Waimate in March.
Thought of the week: Chinese Proverb – he who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
Have a nice long weekend!
Jess

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.
RAFFLE PRIZES
For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.
To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.
When it's your turn to provide the prize:
Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.

Pumpkins For Polio.
'Pumpkins for Polio' is what I hope will be a fun way for our members to raise funds and awareness of our continued fight to eradicate Polio.
Attached you will find posters and information sheets to help sell this to your clubs, you are welcome to have others (non-members) take part if it might help get them involved in Rotary and supporting this cause, provided they can raise the funds to support their pumpkin.
