President Peter's Message
We have received two applications for membership. Judy Dolman has already attended three of our meetings and Suzy Duffield has been recommended by NRG. We look forward to welcoming them as members.
Craig Calder has taken over as CEO of South Canterbury Rugby from Wayne Hart. I went to visit him and he was very aware of the Rotary connection through the hot dog van and our financial support of SC Junior Rugby. He has played, coached and refereed the game and he has agreed to come and talk to the club on November 21th.
At last week's Board meeting it was agreed to trial EFTPOS for a 12-36 month period. Jess Hewitson of NRG spoke about having it available at the recent Home Show; it was the reason they made a profit. We have been asked for years if we have EFTPOS. This will be on a leasing arrangement and there are no transaction fees as we will not be accepting credit cards or giving out cash. We do have the option to cancel after one year.

DG Bruce Cowan: Celebrating Rotary
Bruce joined the Rotary Club of Dunedin in 2000. He was President in 2008-09, was awarded a PHF in 2011 and was the Assistant Governor for Area 3 ( 6 Dunedin clubs and Rotoract) from 2013 -15. Bruce is a former secondary school teacherand for the past 17 years he has worked in residential colleges for the University of Otago. He is currently the Deputy Master of St Margarets College, where he is a substitute ‘father’, providing pastoral care and academic support to a large family of teenagers.
Bruce and his partner Jill Shayler live on a lifestyle block on the outskirts of Dunedin. Bruce has four children and ten grandchildren and Jill has six grandchildren. Outside of his work and Rotary, Bruce has just finished his second stint as President of Athletics Otago and he enjoys making stained glass windows.

2018 RE-CYCLERS' TRIP
Destination: Queenstown
Departure: 11th March
There are numerous trails around Queenstown, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes and Gibbston, all suitable for novice cyclists. Almost all trails are off road and are designated trails especially for cyclists.
We already have a good number going, but there is room for anyone else who would like to go. Accommodation is limited, so if you are interested, please let me know and I'll send you some information.
