President Peter's Message
Spirit of Adventure Trust
The Rotary board has agreed to sponsor Jenna Willocks from Timaru Girls' High School and Bryn Houghton from Timaru Boys' High School to sail on a ten day voyage
on the "Spirit of New Zealand."
They will be one of over a thousand young Kiwis each year who get to experience the trip of a lifetime. The voyage is based on learning by involvement, developing leadership skills and learning the importance of being part of a team. Each course is for 40 young Kiwis who after ten days will come to depend on each other and create lasting friendships.
The Spirit of New Zealand, a three masted barquentine was commissioned in 1986 and has undertaken an annual program of around 340 days at sea. She is believed to be the worlds busiest youth ship. We wish Jenna and Bryn well.

There is just one slot left to fill for the Mackenzie A&P Show on Monday 2nd April Money/Dogs 11.30am-2.00pm.

Centennial Fund Proposal
Object:
Set aside funds over the next ten years to mark the 100th Centennial Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Timaru and make a lasting gift to the people of this community who we have supported and who have supported this club.
Fund target amount:
$100,000 would be a meaningful figure equating to $1,000 for every year the club has been in existence.
Where will the funds come from:
If the gift is of a charitable nature, $5,000 per annum from the Charitable Trust matched by a special fundraising activity each year for the remaining $5,000.
Type of gift:
That can be decided upon during the last 5 year period.
The above will be discussed at the 3rd April tea meeting & a motion moved to allow (if passed) planning to be started.

This is a day visit to Dunedin to learn more about Rotary and where it is headed.
This day is open to all member's and will be a well worthwhile day.
Let's get as many people there as we can.

CONFERENCE in Dunedin
May 5th 6th and 7th.
This will be a great conference to attend lots of great inspirational speakers.
A fun way to get the fellowship with other rotarians from around our District.
We NEED to book accommodation now as it's a big weekend in Dunedin.
The theme of the Saturday Night Function is "B".
Again lets gets many people there and show our District how well Timaru can have Fun.

The above is to let everyone know that if they are travelling to the Forsyth Barr Stadium to watch rugby, or Ed Sheeran - there is parking available for them quite close to the Stadium at a very reasonable price, courtesy of the friendly members of Dunedin South Rotary.
