President Bev's Message.

Greetings,

We were treated to 3 impressive presentations on how Rotary Exchanges and Vocational Training Tours made an impact on the lives of the participants. After thinking through what they saw, experienced and learnt these three have made contact with Rotary and are following their own paths with the organisation.
Thank you, Jess, Tony & Julie for your stories and your contributions to our Rotary Club.

Congratulations Phil on your membership to the Rotary Club of Timaru. We look forward to having you and Christine with us.

It was a pleasure to bestow an Honorary membership to Russell Dockrill. This was a unanimous decision.

October is Rotary's Economic and Community Development Month. We serve our community well under this umbrella as a club and as individuals. Our Club Business section is always full of events, help required for projects or fundraising for these projects.

Take care and stay warm.

Bev.

This Week's Meeting
Tuesday 8th October

Followed by a Director's meeting - for the 'Board of the Rotary Club of Timaru'.

Next Meeting
Tuesday 15th October
Dave & Kim Woods - Speaking on 'Walking The Camino Trail'

Partners most welcome.

Duty Roster Attendance.

It is important (as noted under the "Duty Roster" on the left) that if your name is listed that you organise for someone to do your duty on the night (if you are not attending on the night or you are to be late) as often it is falling to members who are there early in the evening to do the duties (otherwise they are being done later on before the meeting - when those on duty have not appeared). By clicking here it is possible to see the "full" list showing when you are due to be on well in advance to give you plenty of time to organise (swap) with someone. Click here to see your 'host duty tasks' on the night (if you are unsure).

New Induction.

Stroke Foundation Blood Pressure Testing Day

On Saturday 5 Oct 19 we are looking for club members to assist between 10 am to 4 pm at Timaru Pak N Save. This is a joint venture with Timaru North, so assuming we split the day 50/50 four people will be required. If you can assist on the day please let Shaun know and advise your preferred shift being either 10 am12 pm or 12 pm2 pm.

Garage Sale

We are gauging Club interest in running a Garage Sale on Saturday 23 Nov 19 upstairs in the Function Room at the TTCC. We a looking for a small group to organise the event with Club members assisting on the day. The venue has been booked, so just some co-ordinating to get the project on the move, with proceeds going to International (Polio) and a local charity(s) to be confirmed. If you are interested in either organising or assisting on the day please let Shaun know.
