Thought for the week
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. - Buddha
THANK YOU KING STREET MOTORS
Thanks to King Street Motors for carrying out a Warrant of Fitness inspection of the Hot Dog Caravan at no cost to the Club, and then carrying out some maintenance work, again at no cost to the Club. What great support of our efforts for the community.
Members might like to return the favour by supporting King Street Motors; you'll find them at 143 King Street.

President Jess's Message.
Kia ora koutou katoa,
This week we welcomed Lee Johns into our Club. Lee is the owner of a successful travel broker business and has recently stepped down as the Timaru RSA President. We are looking forward to working with you Lee and welcome to the club 🙂
We had our first club night for the new year, the room was humming with all the discussion in the committee groups. Looking forward to hearing what ideas you all have and look forward to our next club night where we can discuss these ideas as a group.
Bruce gave us an update on our 'Centenary Project' proposal of planting trees around the area. Looking forward to hearing the updates as they arise. Thank you for your work Bruce!
Lynette, Lionel and I are down in Dunedin this weekend meeting with the 9980 RYE Committee. Lionel has been appointed Chair of the District Committee. A bit of a quiet start for the year due to COVID but gives us some time to plan before the District merger.
Error in my report last week; we had Nigel Trainor, not Nigel Davenport talk about SCDHB (probably a fine for me!) Good spotting Gilly!
Closing thought: "If we aren't supposed to have midnight snacks, why is there a light in the fridge?"
Followed by a Charitable Trust Board meeting at Lynnete & Lionel's (166B North St).

When doing Host Duties (i.e. Duty Roster), please remember that you set tables, raffles etc up for the night.
Then at the end of the meeting you need to pack up again and return table numbers etc. into the box and put away.
The large sign outside door must also be packed away (this part isn't always been done).
It then falls to those leaving last.
RAFFLE PRIZES
For this Rotary year, President Jess would like members to take turns at providing the raffle prize (no alcohol please), either by buying a prize to the value of $10 to $15 (keep the receipt and ask Treasurer Jenny for reimbursement using the claims form click here...) or maybe you have a suitable prize you'd like to donate.
To make it simple to keep track of whose turn it is, the person on Host Duty 2 will be asked to provide the raffle prize for the week.
When it's your turn to provide the prize:
Please put the prize on the Host table no later than 5:30 pm.
Make sure there's a raffle sheet (from the host bin) and a pen on the table.
If you are unable to attend Rotary, and you are unable to find someone to swap, please contact Robyn Baldwin so she can arrange cover for the night.
First Induction For 2020-2021.
President Jess had the privilege of performing her first induction at the Tuesday night tea meeting of Lee Johns.
We welcome Lee (and look forward to many good times both working & social).
